Impossible Cure Newsletter -- June 2012 |
Frequently Asked QuestionsI get e-mails from parents of autistic children every day. I try to answer each one with a personal response within a few days after I receive it. While I don't make any money doing this, I remain committed to serving other parents who are struggling with one of the most difficult situations that a parent can face. It is my way of showing gratitude for the fact that my son Max was cured with homeopathy. If you support the work I do, I only ask that you encourage people to buy and read Impossible Cure (or my new book, Active Consciousness) and to support homeopathy however you can. Naturally, many people who write to me ask the same basic questions. So I thought I'd take this opportunity to write up some of my answers here.
Can I talk to you on the phone about my child? Will you treat my child (or me)?
How is Max doing today?
Does Max still take remedies for autism?
How can I get Carcinosin so that I can treat my own child?
Did Max take other remedies besides Carcinosin, and did you use any supplements? We never gave Max supplements. At the time we were going through this process (the mid 1990s), most of the knowledge we now have about supplements and other treatments for autistic children was not available. (However, I do think that supplements can play an important role in autism treatment. Please discuss this matter with your homeopath.) As described in Impossible Cure, besides homeopathic treatment, the only things we did with Max were: some food elimination and avoidance of food colorings, speech and language therapy for one year, several appointments with an osteopath, and occasional Reiki (energy healing) that I did myself. By the time Max was a teenager, we no longer imposed any food restrictions.
What are your views about sequential homeopathy?
How long should I stay with a homeopath if I am not getting enough results?
If you are not seeing any results whatsoever, but you are working with a trained classical homeopath that you have a good rapport with, I would stick with them for at least 4-6 months before passing judgement. Remember that it often takes experimentation with a few remedies and potencies to start getting effects. Ask your homeopath how they feel about the case. Don't be shy! It's their job to communicate with you. Sometimes a homeopath may be perceiving changes that you may not see since you are so close to the case. (It is often useful to keep a weekly diary to help you see changes over time.) Or sometimes a homeopath will admit that they are not making progress and will recommend another practitioner.
Probably the most important pieces of advice that I give parents are:

Take Action Today to Protect Homeopathy!!When it comes to attacks on homeopathy, the "skeptics" (I prefer to think of them as mercenary thugs) never seem to take a break. Their latest efforts: remove our access to homeopathic remedies. If you want to retain your access to homeopathic treatment, it's time to take action. These efforts strike at the very heart of our access to homeopathy!
